Profibus DP Network - two branch from PLC (is it possible?)

I'm setting up a PCS7 system and the physical layout is such that I would like to branch out in two different directions from my PLC. Can I branch my network out in such a way or does profibus require that I have all my slaves in series?

manmeet Gold Member Joined: 1/3/2006 Last visit: 4/21/2023 Posts: 726 Rating: (71)	HI Master (PLC) can be any where in the profibus network. So PLC can be in the middle PLC-SLAVE1-SLAVE2-SLAVE3......... SLAVE1-SLAVE2-PLC-SLAVE3-SLAVE4...... Both are valid and good to go. Regards Manmeet

If this is the case, then all that is required is that the termination circuit (included is standard Profibus connectors) be activated on the first andlast nodes of the bus.
