ghost_ Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello friends ! Please help me with my issue ... I'm trying to make a simple program and establish a Profibus connection between two CPU's: 1. MASTER (SIMATIC S-300 CPU 315F-2 PN/DP) 2. SLAVE (SIMATIC S-300 CPU 313C-2 DP) The problem is, that I am not sure if i configured it correctly in Step7 and i have no idea how to make a program (for example: The Master wants the Slave to trigger one diode to flash) I hope you can help me, because I'm really without any ideas ... Tried everything ... Please send me some info, FAQ's or anything what would help me to end my project successfully... Looking forward for your replies !!!

Do I have to make a program so the SLAVE will start flashing one diode in the I/O module ? EDIT: Is it necessary to add a power supply into a project before compiling and downloading the program ?

I'm not good at programming ... Could someone send me a simple code which i could use by analogy to make my own ? EDIT: Please ... Give me a hint how to make a program ... Any links ? Tutorials ? EDIT: Is it necessary to use any .GSD file so the communication will work ?

If you transfer a bit, you just have to connect this value to a digital output in the slave. You can also look it up in SIMATIC NET Quickstart CD. Greetings, Rated X

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello ghost, you can take a look at Simatic Net Quickstart CD, too: https://www.automation.siemens.com/net-static/Quickstart2009/quickstart012003/html_76/allgemein/allgemein.htm Maybe this will help you further. There is also an example project you can use for your system. You will have to load all the function which are necessary for DP communication. As far as I know you don't need to load a GSD file for these devices. Regards, Rated X

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi ghost, which guideline did you use? But to prove if the data exchange is working should not be too hard: Send a bit to the slave (maybe a bit from the cycle memory) and put it to an output. Regards, Rated X
