Hello Siggi; In projects we have worked on before we have had to study various alternatives for wireless on Profibus-DP. In one of them(a mobile truck recievers application), we implemented Satel Narrowband radio modems for Profibus-DP. Slow (9600 baud) but reliable, once all the glitches such as powering the modules properly inside a truck cab were resolved. Also it requires a master/slave relationship between the Satel units if I remember, and that required some adjustment. But in the end it worked well. We have also looked at the (more recent) offerings from Prosoft. They have a Wireless Master/Slave communication modem that looks interesting, might be useful in your application. The profibus.com Products page shows 19 hits for "wireless", including the preceding manufacturers and one I haven't studied yet, DataEagle 3002 Wireless Radiomodem for Profibus. Have a look here: http://www.profibus.com/meta/productguide/?query=wireless Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
