profibus DP

automation_1 Posts: 133 Rating: (2)	i have some danfoss fc302 (inverter), which have a transmision rate from 9,6kb/s to 12Mb/s, to add on profibus;i must go at 45Kb/s but when i put fc300 (downloaded his GSD file) in Step7 configuration hardware a message say that 45kb/s is not supported from this device (inverter); how can i resolve it?

Wizard Diamond Expert Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 4/23/2025 Posts: 8963 Rating: (1195)	Dear automation_1, Because of your Profibus speed, I think you are using DP/PA couplers In thatcase the whole profibus network speed will be 45 kbit/s When you use a DP/PA link in combination with a DP/PA coupler, your Profibus PA network will be 45 kbit/s and the Profibus DP network can be a different speed (like 1,5 MB/s) Best regards, Wizard

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 4/23/2025 Posts: 3047 Rating: (1061)	Hello automation_1 in addition to Wizard's advise, you could also ask Danfoss why they don't support 45.45 kbps. You may find that the answer is perhpas as simple as"well, wedidn't think about this speed as it is a bit of special DP speed needed only to accomodate the Siemens PA couplers". If that's the case, either get them to change their GSD fileOR do it yourself by adding the line 45.45_supp = 1 to it and see if the Drive accepts it (add after the line that states "19.2_supp = 1").
