Profibus Encoder as DP slave to s7 315 2DP

Shall I am able to read n write using SFC14/15? I got the GSDfile. While putting it in the Hardware configuration what should I enter n the paramaters? Some hexadecimal values are there to be entered. Have any one configured with simatic manager please help me out. the memory mapping of ATM 60 is not understanding to me. In your example four bytes are dedicated for the position feedback. I have found that data in the manufaturer PDF. All i need to do is scaling only. Thank you once again.

William Jimenez Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	I think that use a counter as a divisor or something like that should be fine. I'm not expert, but that is the most inmediate thing I would do using step 7.

Output of encoder is unsigned 32-bit integer data. I assume you read value from one input word, but you have two words. Read the value not for example IW100 but ID100. Now you get more than 65535. L ID100 T MD100 MD100 is an signed double integer (or you can use some DBD from data block declared as DINT). It works fine until value reaches+2 147 483 647. Higher value occupies bit 31 (sign bit) and you get negated value starting from 0. Encoder CPR (counts per revolution) is 8192 (default)? It means262144 revolutions. Enough? Correct someone if i am wrong. RIAN Che Any thoughts of adding up data when counts value are crosssed? After my answer i think this question is not actual anymore ?! RIAN Che Converted data to real... Why conversion? Must use data type REAL? May be i am wrong. Not tested, just read Sick manual and made HW config.
	I'm just a human. Mistakes are allowed. Sorry for my english. Only 3 months of training and manuals :)
