Dear experts;

I'm having trouble setting up the communication between my CP342-5 and the CP443-5 Basic of my customer.

Originally, profibus was ordered for this project. For us, our standard is Profibus DP but on site I noticed this was not possible for the client so he wanted me to change to Profibus FDL.

I've added the FDL connection (to unspecified partner) on my PB subnet and added all the necessary settings as PB address and LSAP.

However; the communication is not working.

My AG_SEND block status is alternating between 8181 and 8315. It seems that it goes in error (with status 8315) everytime it tries to send data.

I've received some data from the customer but he also had a lot of error messages.

When I looked at the buffer of my CP I noticed is was constantly entering and dropping out of the logical token ring, therefore not being able to send data.

The weird thing about this is that I made a test-program were I configure a master to check my communication and this works perfectly fine. On site however, no communication is possible. The only difference with my master test-program is that I use a different CP because I don't have acces to a CP443-5.

General set-up:

Slave (me): PB address: 15 - LSAP 2
Master (client): PB address: 1 - LSAP 16
Transmission speed: 500 kpbs
Profile of PB connection: Universal (PB/FMS)

I have added some screenshots to make everything as clear as possible.

Yesterday I spent a whole day trying to solve this, but no luck.

I wonder what you guys might have as solution.

hope I'm not wrong but LSAP values need to be identical on both devices (vice versa due Master or Slave position). Also for another description look to attachment.

Thanks for your answer.

I would be amazed if LSAP should be the same on Master/Slave but I will investigate.

I got the LSAP addresses from the customer and that's why I used them. FYI; in my testprogram I used different ones and it worked.

I've already seen the error for 8315 but it is not the LEN parameter that is wrong and the wrong header is also not possible (because we're not using free layer 2 access).

So the other possibility of this error is bus disruption and offcourse that is a vague description.

On MAster cfg:

Master LSAP       Slave LSAP

        1                             5

On Slave cfg

         5                             1

I see in your post complete other values in partner cfg like yours LSAP values. Is this correct? Better say, is your LSAP values correctly set also on partner side? This is what I mean.

ok, that was only general idea if some cfg isn't correct on other side.

Update: can you catch really also 8185 value with ERROR bit true? If your STATUS rolls with your mentioned area of values, maybe this value can be also point to some problem...

Error bit is only 1 with status 8315.

yes, sry for my questions only check if you have relevant data due some conditions. Maybe I can prepare some cfg here as close as possible (but without s7-400) and see if it will work to me. In my opinion (in your situation) I'll be check every status which will arrive to me and compare it with reality/possibility why it can happen. Also that STATUS 8185 point to not correct LEN value for SEND, some reserved bytes can be occupied for system (something going to me 4 bytes???).

Status is never 8185...8315 with error bit one and 8181 (=job active) with error bit zero.

aaaaaah I was sure from your post that you have also some other values between 8181 and 8315. So you have only 8315? In this case problem can be in partner side in my opinion, if he has defined other length of buffer. Sry, only idea to this STATUS... Can you confirm identical length of your both buffers?

Update: sry, have only one CP342-5 and other CPU only integrated DP port, so can't create FDL connection.
