Profibus: Interference between devices when using PDP22

daveadm Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello I have CPU 414-2DP with PCD2.M157+F750 SAIA I use a DB Slave SINAMICS G120C DP(F) V4.4 with GSD FIle SI018188.GSD So far everything works well. However: As soon as I load the followingGSD File into Step 7: DP Slave Typ PDP22-FBP (V1) GSD FIe ABB_082D.GSD The Communication to the SINAMICS G120C DP(F) V4.4 does not longer work. What could be the reason for this? Could it be that the ABB_082D.GSD is faulty? There seems to be an interference between those twodevices for some reason. Thanks in avance for any idea or hint how to solve this.

The important thing is GSD files to correspond to real hardware devices. Attach here your hardware configuration. To have a deeper looks in configuration. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

After download the configuration and all the devices properly connected must guarantee no profibus fault. Describe the connection - first is CPU then goes to Sinamics and the last node is ABB Starter. This means the Profibus resistor on Sinamics must be in OFF and on CPU and ABB - ON. What does to mean 'communication with Sinamics no work anymore' exactly? What is written in Diagnostic buffer of CPU? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

daveadm Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	The connection is as you described: CPU -> Sinamics -> ABB Starter The Sinamics is OFF, the CPU and ABB is ON, as you mentioned. In the diagnostic buffer of the CPU is nothing exceptional. The exact communication problem is the following: Seperately, Sinamics works well. But when I add the ABB Starter into PROFIBUS, Sinamics does not work any longer. Then the "Switch-on inhibit" (Einschaltsperre) is active. Sometimes, after a while, "OFF2" and "OFF3" changes into inactive. As soon as both are inactive, I can start the drive by pressing a few times OFF1. Is it a problem, when DP Slave Typ PDP22-FBP is V1, and GSD FIe ABB_082D.GSD is V0? Again, seperately, they work well. Best regards, daveadm

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, a wrong GSD file can't case this type of error. the GSD file is only for one device type. It can't influence a communication to any other device. During connecting the ABB Module did you get any red LED on SINAMICS or on SIMATIC? There must be any signalization of error. If you have connected everything open HW_Config and switch in HW Config to online. Do you get any error message or red symbols there? If now it must work. Check the bus cycle times, it seems, that the ABB module increase the cycle times and the SINAMICS creates any timing error.

daveadm Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello Rated X, When I'm connecting everything and switch HW_Configinto online modus, everything is ok.There is no warning or red symbol. I cheked the cycle times and tried all the other cycle times. But there is alwalys the same problem. regards, davadm
