Hi, I have an urgent question about possibility of communication via profibus class 2 (multimaster) in project with two 315-pn/dp as two masters and two slaves in one profibus network. Client of mine want to have some kind of redundancy (one master is active, second is in "sleep" mode) on CPU, and both have to operate to same DP slaves (ABB) not at same time, but I need to control both slaves from both cpu, for opportunity when one master will die. I need an answer for question is it possible without hardware solutions? Now I'm trying to add the same slave in two hardware configuration and it's fail. I have set profibus network for standard, not DP (from documentation). ACTIVE SYNC in picture is communication between 2 masters via profinet or s7 connection, thats not problem. Where I find informations how to enable two masters to work together with two slaves with token in class 2 profibus? I thought I will be able to enable/disable profibus communication via SFC later, when hardware configuration will pass. Tell me, what I'm doing wrong best regards, Attachment20160317115158904.pdf (144 Downloads) |

hi zolwik_rct, what you need is Software-redundancy for S7-300/400. See the following manual for further information: SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Software redundancy for SIMATIC S7hope this helps, regards, |

Hello zolwik_rct While DP Slaves may support sharing their inputs with more than one DP Master, they do "belong" to the DP Master that configured them on bus startup. You could spend an awful lot of time trying to make this work purely with software in combination with SFC12. Even if you get it to work though, it is not worth it in my opinion and will also mean that the switchover from one DP Master to the other will (must) lead to a short dropout of the DP Slave. My suggestion is you add hardware and have a look at the Comsoft's PRS for that matter, see http://www.comsoft.de/markets/industrial-communication-products/products/profibus-products/switch/prs for more on this device. I hope this helps |
