profibus network problem

misak Posts: 23 Rating: (3)	dear all I'm using a 315-2 DP CPU networked on profibus as master(settings universal dp/fms.1,5Mbps)also in the network are 5 station PM-E,10 inverters and 4 tp177b, all components are in a 200 miters production line with the cpu on the middle. the problem is that at the end of the network after 50-60 miters on both sides i can't see the modules I'm solving the problem by installing a repeater. why is this happening ????

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	At 1.5Mbps, Profibus is supposed to work upto 200m. But this is provided you follow these. You use all cables and connectors that are profibus approved for at least 1.5Mbps Terminating resistorsare used properly in the network. Follow all the installation procedures. Proper instation of connectors with proper shield connectivity, Cable routing away from power cables etc. It is not highly EMI prone area. This is is a common problem in some heavy electrical industries. Then you need special devices for filtering the noise. May be these points will give you some idea why you are facing the problem.
