Profibus PA Repeater

Sometimes i have some power failure or signal lost on the network. i'm using abt 22 devices on the every network tree. i have attached the sample.pdf for your view.So is there any repeater that i can use for solve the problem. dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 12328 Rating: (2698)	Hello color; We have never had to use repeaters on our PA networks, but we have studied the market, and found a few manufacturwers who provide some for FF (bot FF and PA are based on IEC61158-2). From the user manual for the SMAR DF48 repeater for H1 Fieldbus: According to IEC61158-2/ISA-S50.02 physical layer definition as used for Fieldbus, a H1 bus topology fieldbus network with DC power can support a network segment cable length of up to 1900 meters. Up to 4 repeaters may be used in series, providing for the total cable length of any particular network trunk or spur to be increased up to 5 times the cable length of one segment. This allows for a Fieldbus device to be located up to 9.5 Km (5.9 miles) away from a control room. If the overall length of each of your PA networks does not exceed the bus limitations (max 1900 m. with classA cable, including trunk and spurs), if voltage at the last slave is over 19 V DC, and if your coupler provides enough current for the consumption of all your slaves (an EX coupler only provides 150 mA, a Siemens non-Ex coupler provides 440 mA or up to 1 A depending on the version), then using a repeater should not help you. You should look at diagnostics on the DP master (each slave on the PA side is seen as a DP slave by the master, if you use a DP/PA coupler); you should also look at using PDM or another PA softwaretool to look into the various instruments diagnostics log. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am sorry, but you sure about the size you mentioned? If I check the standard it says 1900m, well... if we use it in practice the size of 1900m within the none EX area is hardly possible. Within the EX area you may have up to 1000m. Best regards J_Bell
