Hello, A profibus network must be terminated at it both ends. Normally you do this by switching on the termination resistor on the profibus connectors at the bus ends. The termination resistors are powered by the profibus devices. If you unpower the last device of the bus, or you disconnect the last device, the resistor is not powerd anymore, and you could have a problem. I guess that you always leave the PLC and the HMI under power. Put them ath Try to reorganize the network like this: - put the PLC and the HMI ateachend of the bus. - switch the terminationON at PLC and HMI side - put the PC in the middle and switch the termination OFF on the PC connector. This would allow you tounplug/remove the PC at any time. If you cannot reorganize the network, You could also put at the end of the network a powered terminator like the one described here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19102444 Then the PC, the PLC and the HMI like in your original drawing. Activate the Termination on HMI. |
