Profibus with Atlas Copco air compressors

atos Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Dear all! I have a project as follows : control and supervise three air compessors of AtlasCopco via Profibus. Each of them has a Modbus/ Profibus interface (option). I choose CPU 315 - DP and a TP170A to display data. Can anyone who has experience in this matter give some information, such as may i control and access data from these air compressors, how do i config them, and where can i find the GSD files for these Profibus slaves.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (411)	Hello Atos, well..I have to admit I do not know these devices, but I know that the GSD / GSE File is usually provided by the company that created the Hardware. They have to ensure that the Slave is certified, so it also has to provide the GSD / GSE File. Best regards J_Bell

luq Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello Atos: The Atlas Copco Air Compressors have a bridge Profibus to CAN (Combox-P), this one can has the GSD file with diferent byte size, example 16 bytes Input, 16 bytes Output or more. Please show me how to understand what is Input/Output data on the GSD config relation which data on the CANBUS side! can you send me your project file??? thanks!

Hi Atos, Normally there is some description of the DP-slave <> CAN-master in the handbook of the box that may convert Prodfibus DP signals to CAN bus signals. I have seen that you could only define 16 Byte In and 16 Byte Output, so there must be some data in the manual of the box how to do that. This is the respons of the one who have made the box.
