Hello hamed; The question you ask is in the mind of every student I have worked with, on any subject. And the only answer I have ever found is, basically, that it depends on what you want to do, and how fast you want to master the subject. I would say that in order to setup, commission and troubleshoot a Profibus-DP network, you do not require advanced knowledge of data frame construction, or the concept of Tbits (bus timing units), or even the bus parameter values, unless they affect the data exchange on the network. At that point you should read up on these subjects, since they will be needed to redress a problematic situation. Effective basic knowledge of Profibus networks can be achieved through the downloadable documents from PI (Profibus Internatiuonal), starting with the Profibus Installation Guidelines. You can find them here: https://www.profibus.com/download/?tx_solr%5Bfilter%5D%5B0%5D=technology%3APROFIBUS Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
