Hello MicroMan jolly good question I must say and here's my take on this: Peoplegenerally do consider the repeater part of the cable and do NOT take its delay into account. Saying that, a ProfiHub (just like any other PROFIBUS repeater) does cause a slight delay. How much is dependent on the baudrate and the valuescan be foundin the technical data section of the ProfiHubmanual (available at http://www.procentec.com/downloads/index.php). You'll see them specified inbitrate values, e.g.1.4 Tbit at 1.5Mbps. A Tbit is 1/baudrate, so it has a valueof0.6667 µsfor 1.5 Mbps, which then equatesto a time delay of 0.9333 µs(1.4 *0.6667 µs). I hope this helps (and leave it as your call it you want to include this almost 1 full microsecond delay per ProfiHub in your calculations or not |
