In a plantlast year i havealready installan automation system with cpu 315 PN and 1 profinet ET200s node (IM151-3) using 50 mt eterneth cable. All ok ! Now have to move the node profinet to 400 meters away. Through recommendations of the Siemens supplier I bought 2 Siemens SCALANCE : 1 pieces--> 786 PRO1 and Antenna ANT93 1 pieces--> 786 PRO2 and Antenna ANT93 I try in my office whitout result. it's the first time for me that use a scalance. i'm not wireless expert I need help on how to configure the SCALANCE and how to integratethis devicein the S7 project Searching in Siemens site i have'nt found an example or adetailed manul abaut this argoument. thank you to all in advance

Now you need to access the settings by entering IP in explorer. As of now can't give you step by step method to set IP but you can do so using NCM. Meanwhile read manual search for entry id 22681042.

How do you configure the Industrial Wireless LAN (SCALANCE W)? Hope this is what you are looking for

But if you do, the W786 will be a PNIO device and you will get more diagnostic in the PLC 2) you can - either configure the link between both W786 as a WDS - or configure on W786 as a client. On the client side you must activate in the Wireless mode the feature L2T (layer 2 tunnel) because Profinet IO requires thetransmission of the originalsource MAC addresses. 3) Wireless is not so fast as wired. You must slow down the update time of the ET200s in HWconfig. Try first with 32 msec 4) Try firts with the ET200s connceted directly to the PLC. If this works, than put the link in between.By doing so, you are sure that the rest of the parameters is OK (Correct Profinet name is assigned to the ET200S for instance)

Hello capraloris, With the settings suggested by jklm the system hould be able to communicate without any problems but I'd like to add some tips. -The antennas you use a strongly directed if you test this link in your office you might get to high signal strenghts at the receiving sides. This could lead to unstable communication. If you test it in you office you might be better of by deconnecting the antennas. - Make sure that the WLAN connection you setup is a 5 GHz system due to the antennas you've selected. They are only capable of transmitting 5 GHz frequencies. - If installed make sure that there is a clear line of sight between the antennas ( in other word they should 'see' each other). Good luck!

By faster I meant that PUT,GET function over wlan behaves slagishly, whereas communicating PLC connected using IMAP behaves perfectly as though they connected using ethernet cable.

But by enabling it it doesn't change anything on the Wireless LAN throughput orresponse times. It's just a different protocol 2 PLCs use to communicate to each other.PUT/GET is for a WLAN Connection as reliable as it is on a cable there PN CBA won't change anything. For this issue where PN IO is usedit doesn't make sense to bring IMAP/PN CBA to this topic since it's related to a ET200S PN IO Device without the integrated CPU.
