PROFINET communication monitoring in S7-1200<>SINAMICS G120C.

Arucad Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello, I tried looking in the forums for solution to my issue, but I didn't find anything useful. I am building a system of 5 SINAMICS G120C drives + S7-1200 1215 DC/DC/RLY. I am using PROFINET for communication between the devices in the network. I also have an industrial PC with SCADA that I use for monitoring and control over the system. I need to set/reset some bits that the SCADA will read. I have no problem with running the drives from the SCADA, reading status and actual values (speeds, current etc.) I will need though, to be able to monitor the connection status to each of the drives. For example set %MXXX.X from FALSE to TRUE, when the connection to DRIVE Y with IP 192.168.x.x fails. How can I accomplish this (In LAD as programming language, if possible). Thank you for your time. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am using TIA Portal 12

Owei Gold Member Joined: 10/1/2013 Last visit: 9/14/2023 Posts: 605 Rating: (71)	Hi, you could use the "Open user communication" block "TCON" to set up a TCP connection to the G120Cs. As long as the connection is up the block sets a DONE but when the connection breaks there will be theERROR set to TRUE. In your S7 program you could monitor this ERROR bit. FreakOnALeash Posts: 267 Rating: (22)	Hello, I think it's easier to use the block "DeviceStates" for this: LADDR:=HW_IOSYSTEM of your PROFINET MODE:=2 (IO devices/DP slaves are faulty); The bit-array of STATE show the device-no. which has an error

Arucad Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Excuse me for my imbecility, but I can't seem to figure out what I should Input in the STATUS parameter value.It says it should be a bit string, but what bit string should I put in there? Also if I need to check the status of each device separately, would it be better if I used the block once for each device.

FreakOnALeash Posts: 267 Rating: (22)	STATE has to be an Array [0 .. n] of Bool. n = number of devices. STATE[0] is true when one of the devices has an error. STATE[1] .. STATE[n] is true when the devices no. 1 .. n has an error.

Owei Gold Member Joined: 10/1/2013 Last visit: 9/14/2023 Posts: 605 Rating: (71)	for the InOut STATE you shall use a "array [0 .. 1023] of bool" if an error occures the firstbit [0] in the array will be set to 1. the other bits will show you which devices are having PN issues [1] device number 1 [2] device number 2 [3] device number 3 ... You just have to call the block once. In theory you can observe 1023 PN devices with 1 call.
