safety4ever Experienced Member Joined: 12/5/2006 Last visit: 3/4/2025 Posts: 73 Rating: (4)	In an S7 400 I have a 443-1 advanced IT card card (6GK7443-1GX20...), I am expecting this modules to support the functionality of an I/O controller as it shows in the description of the module in the HW config. Library,however when it comes to inserting an I/O systemor insert a Profinet I/O by right clicking the PNI/O field and selecting the InsertProfinet I/O It is grayed out, I am not sure what I am missing I have tried FW 2.1 and 2.0, don't think 2.2 is having anything to do with this issue as I read in the notes for the2.2 FW documentation.So how is thismodule supporting Profinet I/O? isit only CBA? Thanks

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, the CP supports PROFINET IO. Is there only the feature insert PROFINET IO System grayed or all PROFINET entries in the List? If only the "insert" is grayed, that the PROFINET System LINE is only shifted and you cannot see the line itself (press F4 for rearrange the symbols). If all entries are grayed, check that the CP card is networked to Ethernet under properties.

safety4ever Experienced Member Joined: 12/5/2006 Last visit: 3/4/2025 Posts: 73 Rating: (4)	Wizard, Rated X thank you for your comments, but I did try as you mentioned Wizard and also as Rated X mentioned to rearranage the drops I still could not see it changing from the grayed out status, I took a screen capture for your reference. What I found weird, in the rack I had a 416 3XL04V4.1 this is when I could not insert theProfinet IO system, I swapped the CPU with a 416 3XR05 V5.3 "boom" this option turns black so I could select it. It seems to me it is a compatibility issue between the CP Card / FW and the CPU? Attachment C:\Profinet_issue.JPG (474 Downloads)

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, unfortunately your CPU is to old for using PN with this CP. I found in product manual a information in chapter 2.1. Restrictions for CPUs with older firmware versions - With CPUs with firmware version V4.1, the CP only has the range of functions of the predecessor module CP 443-−1 Advanced (6GK7 443-1EX41-0XE0) - The use of the blocks FC53 “AG_SSEND” and FC63 “AG_SRECV” is possible only on CPUs with a firmware version V5.1 or higher. - On CPUs with a firmware version up to and including V5.1, PROFINET IO mode is not possible. Manual Part B CP 443-1 Advanced
