Twinsen Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	I'm trying to configure Profibus PA network in a Profinet network, so the data flow would be: CPU 416-3 PN/DP with CP 443-1 Advanced -> IE/PB Link (6GK1 411-5AB00) -> IM153-2 (6ES7 153-2BA02-0XB0) -> FDC157-0 (6ES7 157-0AC83-0XA0) -> PA sensors. But Step7 doesn't allow me to insert IM153-2 module in the profibus network after IE/PB Link (see attached image)! It allows me to insert FDC157-0 there but not IM153-2! What am I doing wrong? fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 3042 Rating: (1061)	Hello Twinsen I don't think you are doing anything wrong and am sure Siemens has a good reason to blockthis kind of configuration when the Metadata based IM153-2 DP/PA link isused behind a PN/DP link. What you can do though is to add/configure the IM153-2 DP/PA link via GSD file behind a PN/DP link. The downside is though that you'll now miss out on the userfriendly PA Network configuration and will need to use the GSD tool for it which you can find HERE. I hope this helps

There is, ask Siemens to develop a metadata based solution and make it available as a Hardware support Package download
