program blowing into S5 Flash

naga Posts: 101 Rating: (0)	Dear all, How toblow the program into a S5 Flash, 6ES5 374-2KG21. Does it sits on aFIELD PG memorty slot directly without any adapter. Becasue when I inserterd and tried through EPROM handling, neither READ nor BLOW working. Regards, Vijay

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 10/16/2024 Posts: 3024 Rating: (1054)	Hello naga hard to say whatexactly the problem is it, but I wonder if you entered the correct"Prog number" and type (e.g. WORD or BYTE etc) for the EPROM. Anyway, the Step 5 manual has some quite good descipition on how to handle EPROM's and you should have the pdfon your PG and/or Step 5 CD. You can of course also download the manual for the latest Step 5 version (V7.2) here (have a look at chapter 18.2): SIMATIC STEP 5 V7.2 I hope this helps

ap_automation Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I'm also trying to blow the same card (6ES5 374-2KG21) using the pg with Simatic S5 V7.23. I have followed through the information provided in the S5 manual on EPROM Management, however when it comes to finding the program number for the particular card, I cannot see it in the siemens provided list. is there a way to find out the program number for the particular card mentioned above or any other way to blow in to this card?? Thanks

But one mor problem is if I wish to read (F1) it is showing OB1 already exisists in Program file, Overwrite it? Why so, Just I want to read the flash program. I mean read is reading the contents of Flash and blow is writing into flash isn"t it? I blowed the program and only ealrierchanged FB35 is shown as blown one. After exiting S5 and reentering with EPROM handling it is showing project settings are not correct. Under Project---> Set ---> EPROM, the Prommertype is NO. when I am attempting to select INTERNAL it is showing System message no. : 0122 What does it mean. How to cross check the contents of flash after blowing. Can i read them directly from flash Regards, Vijay

After going through the manual I understood read, blow etc. I tried to blow the Flash with backup pgm file and tested in PLC. But found PLC not working. Machine HMI is not showing healthy pages. What could be the reason. The blown pgrm source is from program file which is the latest backup of healthy running PLC> Help me out. Vijay
