Hi,

I have a system with S71200 already running with a memory card. I wanted the PLC to run without the card been installed to the system all the time,so I downloaded the program to the CPU memory and removed the card. Now considering that the internal working memory of the CPU 1212 (6ES7212-1BE40-0XB0 ) is just 1 MB, I want more space  to store the datas from the PLC (Atleast 2 MB ).My question is

-Can I insert another memory card and use it just for datalogging? or is it possible to access the data  through web service .

-Will this card if used affect the PLC operation.?

first I recommend to you, don't remove memory card. then if i understood, another SD card does not work with siemens plcs except Siemens'Sd card! 

for data logging you can use automatically data logging from here, to save on your PC.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually meant Siemens SD  card, as I know other cards dont work. If I understood it correctly, You are suggesting to use just one card as Program card which is also used for datalogging? Am I right?

yes. when you remove sd card, sometimes plc is reseting in randomly times.
