MathAlvey Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a question concerning the program size of TIA portal projects. In the attachment I have added a printscreen of what seems to be the problem. I have several PE data files with a filesize over 1GB. This gives me a project with a size that goes over 5GB. These programs need to be exchangable for all our collegues. With a project size greater than 5GB, this is just impossible. It takes ages to transfer projects like these to our server. Is there a solution to somehow delete these files? It is just a point of view of another member about that files PEData... According to me the project should be Ok if there is PEdata.plf only togehter with PEData.idx. Obviously, these projects are placed onto the server so that we always have backups there. We use the TIA portal V11 (but everything is up to date, last SP/last update). If there is no solution than there is no solution. Creating a new project is perhaps a possibility we need to consider?

MathAlvey Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, We have already tried so "save as" under different folders, the project size always remains around 5GB. Creating a new project can work but this doesn't explain the problem. Sending the project to Siemens is offcourse not so easy because of the size of the project. It's not the first time I have heard of other people facing the same problem. We have a lot of different projects and there is only one project that gives us the problem. And the biggest problem is that the project just keeps on growing and growing ..

Obviously, these projects are placed onto the server so that we always have backups there. What does this mean? Is it some kind of synchronized folder? This is not allowed / suggested. Try working on a nromal folder and save it to the server at the end of the day. Otherwise, create a service request - the support will show you the way to send the project if they need it.

MathAlvey Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	It means that we when work on the project, the project is stored on our local hard disk. When we are ready working on the project, we compress the project and place a backup onto our server.
