Program sopcsrvrwincc.exe hangs the system

On this client the program sopcsrvrwincc.exe uses 100% processor load. What is the purpose of this program? Before we configured Lifebeat monitoring on the server we didn't have any problems, but now we do. So the idea is that it is beacause of lifebeat monitoring, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, Jaap

POL Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, I may have a problem too with SOPCSRVRWinCC.exe. The memory usage increases from 6380k to 16640k, and eventually tags are no longer available. WinCC log files in directory \Siemens\WinCC\Diagnose give no information except after starting WinCC: "255,04.10.2006,09:47:14:320,1003015,4,Administrator,SERVER3PIS,Alarm Logging RT,AlarmLogging is being overloaded with 5277 messages / 10 min." (We don't use messages, only the tags for the OPC). WinCC version is 5.1 Hotfix 4. Also, after the hang-up the WinCC screen "status of driver connections" is empty, it doesn't show any connection! I do not want to update WinCC until I'm sure it will actually fix things. Any suggestions? Regards, POL

I found that my firewalls and anti-viruses were accessing some programs simultaneously, and that got several programs to hang. My Internet Explorer was taking an average 90MB of memory for one tab only. McAfee firewall is what did this to Explorer, once I got in the company domain. So I had to re-configure my security (I did have more than a few extra security stuff anyway)
