Programming block - FB504 - Block locked and cannot make connection

mbarrett87 Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	Hi All, Im currently programming with a library of blocks that were supplied to us form a sister site. One of the blocks Meas_Hi, is bein used to compare a field input to inputs which are set numerically on the block. an individual situation has arised where by i need to allow the set points to float depending on the reading from another detector. But i cannot feed the output of my ADD_R block into the setpoints as they are set up with <cannot be interconnected> Is there anyway around this? Mark

LAD/STL Editor will open with message that block is proctected, just acknowledge protected message. Even though block is protected you can edit IO Properties, in particular block IO attributes. So select the IO you need to connect to and open the properties (for that IO Parameter). Go to the attributes tab and find the row with the S7_link attribute set to false. Change the S7_link to true (all lower case). Save and update blocks in CFC and you should now be able to connect as desired. cabreytj

mbarrett87 Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	cabreytj Thanks for your reply, ive done as you stated but i still dont get the option to interconnect? ive even done a full compile of the code to see would that help? the data type in IN_OUT, would this matter? Mark

If you updated the block in the project block folder:Just open any CFC for that project. This open CFC Editor. From the CFC Editor menu select Options>Block Types... This opens theBlock Types dialog box. From this dialog box select the block to be updated. Either select the block from the left hand box and select the right-hand arrow or select the block from the right hand box and select the new version button. This will bring the modified block into the CFC Online block folder and update all instances of the block type. If you updated the block in the master data library block folder:Select the block and select the SIMATIC Manager menus Options>Charts>Update Block Types. Another option is to drag and drop the block from the CFC Editor Catalog Libraries Tab. Once the block has been update in the CFC you should be able to wire/interconnect as desired. cabreytj
