Programming Counter PLC S7-300 with TIA Portal V11

When i using STEP 7 Manager Professional, out put CV of Counter is interger type; but now with TIA Portal, out put CV of counter is word. how can i right compare with it? I using convert intructions but ..... And then i read a sample about counter, i see a MOVE instruction to convert WORD ----> INTERGER. " (A "data type conversion" from WORD to INT is executed with the MOVE box.)" i was using that project that ok, but i make another project, it doesn't convert? Please, you can explain for help me. Thank all of you so much.

Use a symbolic variable with type of data INT or a variable of a data block (type INT) for the parameter "CV". The MOVE-instruction is for the transfer between two variables. You can with the MOVE-instruction also transfer INT variables. With best regards Cicero

With Help of TIA Portal say ok but i didn't work as TIA Portal. I don't understand why i use Step 7 Manager that is ok but i can't using that project with tia portal? In attachment is my project. You need an additional converter "CONV" which convert your value from "Word" into "Int" (Bcd16 to Int). Then you can insert the additional variable with type of data "Int" to the compare instruction. Following, SIMATIC Counter: S_CU, S_CUD, S_CD. We had used CV = MW10 ( or other Memory Word) but output CV only recognize that is WORD type and didn't know that is Interger like we used Step 7 Manager to programming. Output CV can't be compare as INTERGER type direction. Can you tell me why i had and change this error? Thank you so much

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 3/14/2025 Posts: 4406 Rating: (1475)	Hi, I suggest: 1 - you define two variables, one as word, other as int. in the block properties, uncheck IEC check. Move one variableto the other. or 2 - you use BDC output, and convert BCD to int with CONVERT instruction. or 3-you use the Counter of tye CTU, CTD, CTUD.
