Programming of Signals between CPU 314C-2DP and other PLC's through Profibus DP

Suhas Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	I want tosendand recievesome signals from my CPU 314C-2DP to Other customer plc. I want send signals to be in 16 Word format and Recieve signals to be in 8 Word Format. I want to know the procedure to do this in Ladder Programming. Let us suppose if i address the DP port as 500. Specifically i want to know how i have to specify it in ladder program the addresses of the signals i want to send and recieve. For Example i have PAW 500 Bit 0 Bool Signal to be sent to customer PLC. How i have to address this bit in my ladder program. In the same way for Receiving i have PEW 500 Bit 0 Bool Signal to be recieved from Customer PLC. How i have to address this signal in my program and use it in my logic. If you have any sample programs which can serve my purpose. please send me some. Thanks for all of your help in Advance cheers

Maybe you could revise this to avoid confusion. Hello Suhas; There are 2 issues to consider in your question: 1) how are the 2 CPUs to be configured. if both are set as masters, Darius' suggestion of a DP/DP coupler would be the simplest solution for the exchange. If not, one of them has to be set as master, rthe other configured as slave. The master must have a Profibus configuration that incluides the slave, with all necessary parameters and data exchange module sizes. If you tell us how you plan this setup, we can help you with more information pertinent to the project. 2) the second point concerns the data you wish to transfer between the CPUs.Profibus-DP does not handle bits, so any bit modification you plan to transfer must be done previous to the Profibus-DP write. Basically I would suggest youcreate 2 DBs,the first 6 words long for the SEND data, another 14 words long for the RECIEVE data. Let's say SEND DB is DB10. It contains 6 words, DB10.DBW0, DB10.DBW2....DB10.DBW12. You want to change the value in the LSB of DB10.DBW0 to send a specific information to the slave PLC.One way you can do this isin your PLC logic, changing the value of DB10.DBX0.0 (this is the addess of the LSB of DB10.DBW0); If you want you can use SET and RESET instructions on this bit.This is sometimes refered to as "packing bits". Next, when your different bit values are ready, MOVE the entire register DB10.DBW0 to your PQWxxx address attributed for the first transfer word in your Profibus interface. Do the same with all 6 SEND registers and you will update the values to be sent over Profibus. If you need to unpack the words recieved, copy (MOVE)each PIWxxx word to its corresponding register in the RECIEVE DB, then test each required bit for its status in your program.
