You will need to install TIA Portal compatible WinCC Advanced above v11 and open the backup.  It should allow the project to be upgraded.

I do not know the upgrade path for WinCC Adv RT projects.  Check the WinCC (TIA Portal) conference or FAQs about upgrade paths for WinCC.

For regular portal projects, the upgrade path from v11 to v16 is:

V11 -> V11 SP2 -> V13 SP2 -> V16
[Win 7------------------...]
                 [Win10--------]

It may be similar for WinCC Adv RT projects.

Hello,

We have a nordson oven, and their tech support is unresponsive.  The Windows 7 machine that was attached and using this SIMATIC Wincc Advanced Runtime v11 crashed, and I have backups, but I want to run Windows 10.  I found a v16 of this software which installs and allows communication to be configured, however, when I run the .fwc file to "turn on the oven," it complains about not being compatible.  I have no idea how to convert this file.  Is this something that there is a utility for, or can I provide the file and someone can update it so it will work with this version?
