Hello lonniealpha; Have a look at this table (taken from the following FAQ):
Which connector cables are available for connecting to SIMATIC Panels?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/19109408 The coding uses "D" for download cable. It shows you have a choice, either a TTY cable (current loop, with integrated converter RS-232 to TTY: 6ES5734-2BF00, for example) or a RS-232 cable (6XV1 440-2KH32, for example). Both types will do the job, depending on the interfaces that actually work on your PG (in my experience, make sure the COM port still works if you want to use the RS-232 link to the OP). For your information, the last 3 characters in these cable numbers specify the length, H32 means 3,2 m, F00 means 5 m. You will have confirmation of this in the OP 27 manual, specially in section 13.1.1, Connecting the Programming PC. OP 27 OP 37manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/1142800 Here are the Product Support pages for both types of cable: 6XV1440-2K...CONNECTION CABLE BETWEEN TD/OP 6ES5734-2BF00 CONNECT.CABLE 734-2, 5M Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
