proposition request for controlling a hydraulic servo valve

is_razi Experienced Member Joined: 3/13/2009 Last visit: 9/7/2024 Posts: 132 Rating: (1)	hi everybody, i want to replace traditional controller of a hydraulic servo valveby s7-300 anda fm module .this servo valve controls a hydraulic squeeze ram acceleration andpositions . the valve itself has a LVDT which controls its output to the ram in a closed loop. i wonder if i can discard the LVDT an use an encoder and a servo controller like IM178-4 function module to close the loop .did you do something like this or have you seen anywhere? if so please let me know it. please tell me if youknow other waysfor controlling servo valves or if you know other function modules which can do the job., best regards.

miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 8/20/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	Have a look on the IM174, this should allow to "add" upt to 4 hydraulic motors a PROFIUS installation. You can control the motor withCPU 315T-2DP , depending on you needs, this may be a bit oversized

CurtisHester Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Here is a small program Siemens helped me with a while back. Change the max speed setting by moving a setting into DB88 Max speed and change position by moving a setting into the position set point. A simple move command will do the job just fine.
