Jasner Experienced Member Joined: 6/10/2008 Last visit: 4/17/2025 Posts: 195 Rating: (1)	Hello guys, I have a compile warning messages like this: The instance alarm 'xxx' does not contain alarm text at the following PLC downloaded language(s): German (Germany), English (United States). Please provide transl. I don't have much experience working in TIA portal, can you please give me a direction, how to provide translations in order to get rid of the compiler warnings. When I choose Go To from the list of compile messages , a window PLC Supervisions / alarms is open. What should I do next in order to first obtain current alarm texts, so I can translate them and import back? Thank you.

Perhaps start by evaluating that the languages are correctly set. See the image on where to find that. "Project texts" and "Project graphics" contain the text and images that can be adapted between languages. There is a column for each language. These lists can be exported and modified elsewhere if you wish to do so. Siemens do supply some tools that you can use to help with 'automatically' translate some texts for you. Hopefully someone will tell you where to find it. Is this little bit of information enough or you need more?

You can also configure all the texts of the project from the Project tree > Language and resources > Project texts. Attachment text.PNG (387 Downloads)

K_Ohjus Gold Expert Joined: 3/5/2017 Last visit: 4/15/2025 Posts: 780 Rating: (130)	PLC alarm texts can be found. Export can be done there too but you have to make one for each type. So in picture 2 exports And languages on PLC. If you only want to use one language set that to all.

First of all I have found in the Language and resources that a few more languages (in addition to German and English) were set (such as Spanish Guatemala, Portuguese etc). I have unchecked everything except German and English. Then I went to PLC supervisions/Alarms and found what is shown in the attached picture. The fields are not directly editable. Anyway, there is a text under German and English columns (@2%) for \Meldetext. Is the compiler warning here because of other rows (Infotext, Zusatztext...)? In the warning message is stated that "does not contain alarm text at the following PLC", but when I look, there is alarm text (@2%). Do I need to fill all other rows as well?

K_Ohjus Gold Expert Joined: 3/5/2017 Last visit: 4/15/2025 Posts: 780 Rating: (130)	@%2 means that you are referencing SD2 (Suzatztext2). So, you are referencing empty text. Add your alarm text directly to your @%2 field. Why there is @%2, do you need it? EDIT: Also I think that it should be @%2@

K_Ohjus Gold Expert Joined: 3/5/2017 Last visit: 4/15/2025 Posts: 780 Rating: (130)	I think that whole alarm text is written to SD2 somewhere in code. Then you are not able to use TIA multilingual support. You need to write with chosen language to SD2.

Visualization is done in SiVarc and yes most likely alarms are automatically generated. Even though in Options->Settings->PLC Alarms I unchecked "Set Locks on creation of new program alarm, text fiels in tab "Text" in instance alarms are not editable. is there any way I can find where exactly in the project this is generated? Thank you for your time.
