Pump signals

Hi everyone,

I try to get signals from a Simdos 02 pump ( see attachment ).

I use a S7-300 with a SM323 16DI/16DO.

The pump has 2 inputs (I1 = Start/Stop ; I2 = Prime) and 1 output (O1 = Running).

The problem is that I1 & I2 are high when the signal is under 0.8V and low when higher than 2V.

I don't know how to connect the pump with the card. Can someone help me??

the SM323 is an Digital Input and Outputmodule that handles signals of 24 V DC

Yeah I've read the module datas but I'm not sure if I can set the signal to <0.8V with the card I have.

From the attached pump manual, it looks like that to control this pump, S7-300 DI/DO module will not help. Pump drive requires pulse train. So you will need control module which out put pulse train.

I'm afraid you are wrong this time.

The pump doesn't require a pulse train to operate.

Please, check page63 where "in1"  can be set to "level" then a Zero VDC (below 0.8VDC) will operate the pump and 24 VDC (>2VDC) signal will stop it.

NOTE:after the pump has been stopped, there must be a pause time of 0.2 seconds. 

 200msec is achievable with S7-300.

The digital output is an open collector. So, again S7-300 modules will work.

Note: 

If dosing flow rate is high and it's required to count liters, then an FM350 (Counter module) might be required for the output signal (Vol.Pul.)

Have you thought to make an interface from PLC module -> relay -> pump.

It might work for your case!
