Question about Compatibility

fremen1430 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi! II have two projects of WinCC, one in WinCC 6.0 SP4 and the other in WinCC 6.2 Sp2. The projects are very similar with minor differences. My question is because I've done changes in PDLs of Project v6.2 and I want to do the same changes in the project of v6.0. Can I simply copy the *.pdl in the folder of v6.0 or are incompatible? And What If I do a change in a GlobalScript Function? I know that I can upgrade the project v6.0 to v6.2 but my boss doen't want to sped more money. Regards,

Most Global Scripts functions should work fine in both versions. For transferring from V6.2 to V6.0, manually copy the script content (using notepad) from V6.2 to V6.0 and recompile in V6.0. Regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi fremen, As Phantom's said, WinCC's NOT downwards compatible. If you edit something in a newer version it'll not work in the older one. If you edit your v6.0 project under v6.2 it'll no longer work. Phantom's given you the said news about the .pdl's and metioned that the contents of scripts can easily be copied.... even though you didn't say anything about this but, in addition to that, data in TagLogging, Text Library, AlarmLogging, etc, can be transferred using ConfigurationTool...
