question about connecting an device that gives 4-20 mA to a AI module 6ES7-331 7KF00-0AB0

Hi ! As a novice in using AI/AO modules on S7, I tried to connect an device that gives 4-20 mA to a AI module 6ES7-331 7KF00-0AB0. Reading the getting started manual I decided to use 2-wire connection ( type of measurement 2DMU). There is a problem in measuring, because I am not sure if I could use 4-wire connection, and how could I konw which wiring principle is better ?! The HACH-LANGE SC100 controler provides me with 4-20 mA, and I can measure them, but the reading on my AI module is always the same ?! Is it posible to configur AI module when the PLC is in run mode ( I sould not stop the proccess)? Please if there is someone who has more experience with the AI configuration to give me an advice.
