question regarding the LOGO TD

sth Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	I have one question regarding the LOGO TD. I'm planning a new system with an external display to show the pressure of a gas line. When I select the message text block I can see both displays, the green one from the LOGO and the blue one from the TD. I insert into the blue screen which analog blocks I want to display, and nothing in the green one. In the message destination field, I select "LOGO! TD". When I simulate my program, and when the block text is activated, only the green display is shown (emptybecauseI didn't set anything) and I can't see the blue screen from the TD. I looked into File/Message Text setting, but there is nothing about the TD. What did I miss?

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	You are going to like this one! OK sth.... When you configure the text display (TD) and you see the green screen and the blue screen, these are NOT the different screens for the on-board LCD and the TD! Both displays (LCD and TD) can support messages up to 32 characters long (now you ask "how do you do this?") When you are in the Message Text property settings (from FILE menu), you will see that you can select different character sets to support different languages. 1) if you select the GBK character set for chinese, you can still write messages in the language settings of yoour PC - like English or German, but you can now write in 16 characters per line and not the standard 12! 2) Also change the settings for the TICKER SPEED to 200ms (you will see why later!) 3)When you go into configuring the mesage text function block, at the top, you must ENABLE the first characer set (that will be GBK) 4) If you use some special characters like deg C or deg F or plus/minus, then these will take up 2 spaces. The same for German ö. ä. ü characters. But if you stick to standard characters and numbers and things like : and - you can make longe messages. 5) OK now for EXTRA long messages. Type your message so that it goes over the green screen and the blue screen - up to 32 characters (24 for the other standard characters sets) 6) There are now 2 ways to get this long message displayed - select the Ticker setting toLINE BY LINEand put a tick in the line number that corresponds to where your message is. OR - Select CHARACTER BY CHARACTER and put a tick in the line where your message is 7) To get the message displayed on the LCD, select the MESSGAE DESTINATION as the LOGO! Display, or if you want it on the TD, select the LOGO! TD and you can also have it on BOTH identically. 8) Now, when this message text box is enabled, your extra long message will be displayed (on either the LCD or the TD or BOTH) either half of the message at a time, toggling back and forth at the speed you set in the Properties settings (number of characters x 200ms), or scrolling as ticker-text at the same speed per character 9) this way you can make some pretty interesting text messages (especially long ones) 10) in the message text function block settings, if you now choose to enable the SECOND character set (also set this to GBK in the properties settings from FILE), your messages will disappear and you can now write more messages. 11) To show this second messge, simply make a switch to change the state of the Character Set flag M27 (when 0, it shows the first character set message you wrote, if =1, it shows the second long messgaes) 129 all of this os only using ONE of the FIFTY message texts - so you can really make up to 200 different message text screens and only use M27 to toggle between them! Have fun findign all this out! AAArrrrggghhhh!!!
