Question regarding the wiring of a 2-wire current transducer.

bakzoltanf Member Joined: 5/26/2022 Last visit: 9/1/2022 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I have a question regarding the wiring of a 2-wire current transducer. 1, I can see on the circuit diagram in the manual the UV0..UV7 contacts provide 35V for the transducer. Is this true? Is it possible to adjust them for 24V? 2, Is it possible to use these inputs (I0+...I7+) with external 24V supply? In this case I only need to wire the I0+..I7+ contacts from the transducer and keep the UV0..UV7 contacts free? If you look in the technical data of this module, the encoder supply states 24VDC. *edit* These encoder supply is used for a 2-wire/passive transducer. regards sancruz

AutoGen_463075 Regular Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 9/2/2024 Posts: 30 Rating: (1)	Hello, you got it right With 2-wire measurement, this module outputs a voltage of 35V at pin 1. This 35V is led to the sensor. The current signal / return signal is fed back to the analog module via Pin2. The internal measuring resistor follows. And the potential reference point of +11V. Thus the sensor is supplied with 24V. 35V - 11V = 24V With the 4-wire measurement, the current is routed via Pin2 and Pin4 of the analog module. Thus Pin1 with its 35V supply voltage has no meaning. The +11V are blocked by the existing diode. Therefore no influence on the 4-wire measurement. So a simple principle. Greetings George
