Questions about CFC

GregVand7 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm a beginner in programming, and I have some questions about CFC : what are the interests of the CFC ? Is it only used in PCS 7 ? If I have a program written in FBD for several S7-300, is it more judicious to rewrite it in CFC for a single S7-400 or in FBD (or LIST, or CONT) for a single S7-400 ? Maybe my questions are stupid but I don't know much about CFC. Thanks for your answers. Regards, Greg.

If you engineer you program in CFC, the associated picture symbols and faceplate are For beginners, Siemens provides a very helpful and easy Getting Started. The most functionalities for basic engineering are explained. With several step by step instructions, you learn more and more about PCS 7 and by the way you are engineering your first small project, called Colour Project. At the end you have a color mixing plant, with two tanks, which you can operate in the OS Runtime (no real CPU is needed; only PLCSIM). But CFC has a lot more benefits. For example if you use channel drivers for the inputs and outputs then you have the information about the status of the signal. So if you use the bypass for a valve you get the information at the symbol of the valve in the Runtime that the bypass is active. And then you have the benefit that the Advance Process Library (Part of PCS 7) offers you drives for different motors and valves. This drives has implemented the internal logic for a motor. For example if the protect input are active the motor cannot start but if it's run the motor is running along.
