Questions about S7 memory card

Hello everyone,

I have a S7 318-2 DP CPU (6ES7 318-2AJ00-0AB0) equipped with a 64 Kb memory card (MC 951), I don't have physical access to the CPU, but I would like to change the software running in there. If I have understood correctly from Siemens documentation, it is possible to do that simply changing the memory card with another one containing the updated software (the software has been loaded in the current memory card using the S7 function 'Load user program to memory card'). When the new memory card will be plugged in, the CPU will detect the software change, switch to STOP mode and a memory reset will be necessary to load the new program from the MC to the RAM. My question is simple: how do I write the new memory card? I understand that I have to write it using S7 software, but do I also need specific Siemens hardware to perform the operation?

I think you need a PG or USB Prommer to write your Programm to the Memory Card.
