Hello, please answer me few questions about SB1221 As i see this module is directly connected in front of CPU... Does this mean that this module occupies one expansion place in project? So for example if i already have 2 expansion units installed, this SB1221 module wouldn't be usable because for 1200 is possible only 2 expansion units or? If 5V encoder is connected to it, are those signals directly converted to HTL level and i can use them in my program or HTL level signals are available at module's output which i need to connect to CPU HSC inputs? How many inputs does this module have? I need A,B and R inuputs for linear scale ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Which version of s7-1200 do you have and which firmware? There are SB (Signal board), SM (Signal module) and CM (Communication module). To my knowledge, only one SB can be installed on any of the S7-1200. I've never seen a CPU that would accept more than one. In addition to SB you can have up to 3 CMs and 8 SMs. I believe there are two versions of SB 1221, one for 5V and one for 24V so make sure you pick the right one. The board doesn't have outputs, only four digital inputs that are 200kHz. You connect A, B and R to three of those inputs and use functions to read their input in your program. |
