Questions about TM count 2x24v

Hi, i'm currently implementing a 1500 with a high speed counting module (TM count 2x24V).  I have to read the RPMs of two engines. The Inductive Proximity Sensors on each motor gives me 112 pulses per rotation.  

I took readings on the engines factory installed tachometers and typically the engines runs between 700rpm (idle) to 2300 rpm

Doing some quick calculations, I should get 78400 pulses every minute @700 rpm. Which translate to around 1306 hz.

using the High_Speed_counter technology object in a cyclic OB, i'm only getting +/- 480hz while the engines are running at idle (700rpm). I should be reading 1306hz...

I'm thinking the High_Speed_counter might not be configured properly... The measured frequency time update is set at 1sec and the cyclic OB is configured at 1000us...

So my questions:

Should I increase the measured value update time? 

Does the High_speed_counter technology object do is pulse acquiring and calculation independently from the cyclic ob?  That means the cyclic OB cycle time is irrelevant  to the performance/quality of the measured value (hz).

I also suspect wrong wiring of the sensor... It's a NPN (open collector) inductive prox sensor:

TM count channel 0 Input A connected to output of sensor

TM count L+ connected to sensor supply

TM Count M connected to sensor Common...

And the Channel input should be configured as a Sinking output Right?
