The other day Pegaia posted a sample project showing motor drive control using Profinet from an S7-1200. I decided to throw together one similar in function for Profibus.

I put this small demonstration project together using TIA Portal 11 Professional using an S7-1214 to control a MicroMaster 440 drive. The motor drive is configured with 2 PZD words and 4 PKW words. It is a very basic implementation similar in function to the USS library. The GSD file is included as part of the project.

Off 2 and Off 3 need to be set true prior to setting RUN to true. The Speed_SP will accept values between +200.0 and -200.0 with the values being percent of motor speed.

There will be Profibus support with the Basic version of the TIA portal when it is released.
