Falconeer Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, Sulphur melts at 115 Deg. C. So, if the sensor is say a few meters away from the liquid, you can use LR250 that has a max ambient of 80 Deg. C. and a process temp of 200 Deg. C.

SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hi T Murali, Good point. I would suggest to consider a purge connection, most Siemens radars can be ordered with one. Do your process conditions allow a purge connection? Do you expect that the antenna will be cleaned when purged? Another option would be a Low Frequency radar (Sitrans LR200) with a PTFE rod antenna, this one can stand relatively much buildup. Toppie Posts: 74 Rating: (3)	Hello T Murali You don't mention the height of the vessel. Sulphur will precipitate on the radar horn. High frequency radar (26GHz)is more susceptible to build-up than low frequency radar (6Ghz). The LR250 is high frequency radar. My recommendation would be to use the LR200 6GHz radar with a 6" horn. Purging is not possible with the LR250 and not practical in this application. Sulphur will still build up but since it is a low dK we will be able to tolerate build-up to al least 1/4 wave thickness. Please note that you will have to plan a maintenance shcedule of cleaning, starting with perhaps once per month and reducing the frequency as your experience dictates. The precipitation will be minimised if the standpipe/nozzle is kept short and is insulated. Regards Toppie [ \|:)
