Hi!

I am using CPU1214C (DC/DC/DC) with CM1241 RS232 Comm. module.

The device is I am working with is a Cleco mPro400 GC-I which is sending data to my CM (68 characters each time) and the data is sended and recieved with no problems (cheked in Realterm). 

But the problem is that when I am using the RCV_PTP block in my PLC program, the data is updating randomly right or wrong when the Cleco device send it again.

So again with some example:

1. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is updated in RCV_PTP

2. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is updated in RCV_PTP

3. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is not updated in RCV_PTP

4. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is updated in RCV_PTP

5. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is not updated in RCV_PTP

6. Using the Cleco device --> data sent -- > data received --> data is updated in RCV_PTP

So like you see, the problem is full random, as I have tried it in a many ways there is no logic when the problem is happenning or not.

Hello cobra_control,
you should evaluate the outputs of RCV_PTP in your program. Store STATUS when ERROR=TRUE to see what happens.

 Yes, this is the strange problem. I have tried to monitor the value of the ERROR output but when the problem is happening the error output is not set. 

I am thinking of some timing problem, maybe in the program? Because as I wrote, the signal is received surely.

Maybe this is a clue:

- When the buffer updates (so when everything is good) the orange Rx led light on for a half second OR blinks for 2 or 3 times

- When the buffer NOT updates (so when the problem occurs) the orange Rx led blinks for like several times, like 10 times for over a second.

As long as you do not save STATUS when ERROR=TRUE you won't get ahead.

Thank you for your help but meanwhile we found the solution for this problem. 

The ERROR bit was never got on set so this was confusing for me as well.

The problem was that although the message was received, the block wasn't updated it's buffer.

So i've changed the hardware config. for the serial port in the TIA portal (and for the cleco too):

Baud rate                          9600 --> 19200  baud
Message timeout              200   -->  500     ms

Because the message has more time to get received than 200ms and I think this won't be a problem with this increased baud rate.
