dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 12285 Rating: (2685)	Hello jagan.k; A CP 343-5 is a Profibus-FMS master, a CP 342-5 is a Profibus-DP master, FMS and DP are 2 very different variations on Profibus, and the modules cannot be swapped, I believe if you look at the SWR manual once again you will find that a CP 342-5 is an acceptable redundancy module, not a CP 343-5. What exactly is the part number of the module you want to use? Could your original question contain a typo? If so, please describe the problem in mopre detail, with the configuration, parametrization and function setup for redundancy. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 3024 Rating: (1054)	just one more thing to note before you decide to spend your money on a CP342-5 to replace your CP343-5: It can only be used for the redundancy link between the CPU's but NOT for the connection of ET200M's (while the CP342-5 principally supports DP Master functionality itis NOT supported as a DP Amster interface in an S7-300 Software redundant system)! As such, you are limited to using your S7-300CPU's onboard Profibus DP port for the connection of ET200M Profibus DP Slave stations (an S7-400 offers you more choices such as CP443-5 and IM467, have also alook at Which modules can you use when implementing software redundancy? for more on this) I hope this helps
