Due to new Windows11 Laptop and replacement of Desktop computer, I have lost previous installations of LOGO!Soft Comfort (origionally version 3.0 but upgraded to V3.8.

Have tried to install from origional 3.0 CD with intention to then run the upgrade.

On running the Setup for Windows I get a message:-

This Application has Unexpectedly Quit

Invocation of this Java Application has caused an Invocation TargetException. This application will now exit (LAX)

Presumably this is because we are advised not to install Java on recent computers.

Can you please advise how to get round the problem so that I can get a running version of Comfort as I need to change some logic on a running system.

Cannot find a way to contact anybody on the Help Desk by phone or web site!

Install on different computer with older OS and then copy entire directory content (where LSC installed, usually somewhere C:\Program Files\Siemens\Logosoft Comfort) to new computer. Better install version, where Java runtime (JRE) is included. Make shortcut to desktop etc.

In fact, this way you can keep several versions (with different directory names) installed on the memory stick and copy the necessary one to the working machine. So far, all subdirectory paths have seemed to be relative, so main LSC directory name doesn't matter.
