Re-Usable library blocks

Omer_ Posts: 37 Rating: (2)	Hi , i use Tia Porta V11 + Sp2. I want to create an function block which can be used as a library element. When i like to use this block , i should drag it to network and Tia portal should only ask new tags for this block. I tried to create this block but failed. I have read all help documents but i couldn't do it. Do i miss some fatal points ? Simply ; i like to create an library element , which contains 2-3 network ladder diagrams. Did anybody do this yet ? Best regards.

You can now drag your block to the library into the folder Mastercoppies. If you need this function again, drag it from the library into your program, there will be a few questions like rename etc. Attached pictures will show you. It seems somebody have created these blocks in library they use at this video. Best regards.

If not, putting it into a library will not make any magic happen. The magic is all in the header where you create your inputs, outputs, static/temp/inout block tags. A well done block will not rely on any external tags. Is your block working like this already? If so, just put it into your library. You can then zip up and email the block, or copy it to a network share for your coworkers to use in their own projects. The library is a scaled down version of a project. You can drag preconfigured PLC and associated hardware to a library. You can drag blocks, tags, DBs, etc. into the library file. You can then drag them back out into your projects and use them.

I see this kind of block at this video ( wiper block ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUILkF4aI30 I just want to know hot to create it. If Siemens put this video , that means everybody can do same thing. But how ? Best regards.

If Siemens put this video , that means everybody can do same thing. But how ? Best regards. Create either your FC or FB. Copy your ladder logic. Add your header inputs/outputs. Revise your ladder logic to use the internal tags. Save, Compile, and drop into your logic to test. Nothing fancy other than creating the FC/FB.
