Hello hefeng_05 have a look at chapter 7 of the COM profibus manual which describes possible way of doing this very neatly. You can find the manual here (it is also on your Com Profinbus install CD). I hope this helps |

Windows 2000 is the "newest" of the Windows OS's that is supported by the COM Profibus (V5.1 SP1 or SP2) and the "oldest" OS that is supportedfor the CP5512. Or in other Words: You need to use Windows 2000 if you want to use COM PB with CP5512 for IM308C onlinefunctionality. More info on compatibilty of COM PB and CP5512 can be found here: Compatibility of COM PROFIBUS versions with Windows operating systems Applicable PROFIBUS CPs for the application ONLINE-Functions in COM PROFIBUS And one more thing: I once managed to seriously corrupt the PG/PC interface functionality by foolishly installing COM Profibus on a partition that had Step7 on it too (something to look out for, I recommend to NOT have Step7 and COM PB installed together). |

Don't you hate that when this happens... I have seen it working though once and it is officially supported by Siemens, it's a shame that the USB prommer can't be used for this either.
So do I (we actually maintaina PG740 and PIII Field PG just for this purpose)
Thanks Juergen, best wishes back to you in good old Germany too (and enjoy whatever is left of the Summer) Hello hefeng_05 don't let the above distract you, Win2000 (or ideally a Siemens PG) is the way the way to go and will (should/is supported) work. |
