Reading a 2d barcode through ET200 1 SI

Hi,

I'm trying to read a 2d barcode from a DATALOGIC reader via RS232. The problem I am having is that I can read from most barcodes but I can't read from the definitive barcode which is around 550 characters long. I get an error code of 0850 - "The length of the receive message frame is greater than 224 bytes or the defined message frame length."

My question is, what is the limitation of this module? I thought that it had a 4092 byte buffer. Why is it limiting me to 224?

So i from what i understand my only option is to try to divide the barcode, correct?

 Divide bar code means to divide one bar code to several bar codes, right?

Then reading bar codes one by one?
