reading analog value

Alex3 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	MonShah Hi Friends, I'm using an Analog Module having MLFB No 6ES7 331-1KF01-0AB0. While testing I found some strange counts from the Board. The module wiring has been done as per the Manual. I've connected a Current Source for Channel 1 in the points 2 for +ve and 5 for -ve. In the board 5,10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 are connected to Neutral Earth. While giving 20 mA signal I'm getting counts 27000 but when I give less than 12 mA the counts is fixed at 11000. Can anyone help me in this regard. Is there any configuration changes or something else? Reagards Hi, I'm also using the same module with the same MLFB No. I've connected voltage source on Channel 0 just like the Manual. I've connected the wire from the value that I'm measuring on point 1 on the module, and GND wire on point 5. Also points 10,15,20,25,30,35,40 of the unused channels are connected to GND. I've made the proper hardware configuration in Step 7 - I've selected the measuring method E for voltage and measuring range from 0 to 10V on CH 0, the other channels are disabled. But I'm not sure about the adresses of the channel of the module that I'm using in my program. The problem is, when I download the program to the PLC the SF light on the PLC is going RED. I've searched for the diagnostic but I can't solve the problem. Maybe my wiring is wrong, or can you tell me is there some specific way for reading analog value for this module, cause I've found something aboit coding the bytes in the memory, I don't know, I'm confused..? Thanks.

This is the tool used by the PLC to log all events that matter to the CPU, including the errors it fnds that will lead to a Stop, and the lighting of diagnostic LEDs, such as SF. If you have trouble understanding the messages in the diagnostic buffer, save them and post them here so we can help you understand the source of your problem. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Alex3 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hey Daniel, No I haven't use the diagnostic buffer, actually I didn't know about it. Can you pls tell me where can I find it, how to start it, maybe it will lead me to the mistake I'm making, it sounds good to me?

Alex3 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello again, I've try to use the diagnostic buffer and i'm sending the results in the atachments. It says that the error is ilegal command in block. In the atachments I've also have a picture from the block that I'm using just to move the value that I'm reading from the analog module in some memory location. Maybe I'm not using correctly the assigned adresses of the module (from 272 to 287 location), or maybe there is some specific way for reading analog value, maybe it's not that simple? It seemsyou are trying to reach an address that is outside of the input process imagetable, in which case you should use peripheral addressing: PIWxxx for inputs, PQWxxx for outputs. Alex3 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello, Finally It works :), it was the addressing, I have to use peripheral addressing, and the SF light is turned off now :) I'm writing you to express my sincerely thanks, it means a lot to me :) Now I have another short question: I'm not sure about the address that I'm using for reading the value from Channel 0 (PIW 274), is there some manual I can find, about the right assigned addresses for the channels of this analog input module? Thanks again.

Find your analog inputmodule in the configuration. The input address range is available there, as a byte range. For example, 256..263 would reserve 4 addresses of an analog input module, channel 0 at PIW256, channel 1 at PIW 258, channel 2 at PIW 260 and channel 3 at PIW 262. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
