Hello Greg_S, if you don't have access to second PLC you MUST use S7 protocol, because all other possibilities requires access to configuration and needs configuration change. Here you will find a sample how to do this: Sample Program: S7 Communication with blocks FB14 ("GET") und FB15 ("PUT") of the CPU 317-2PN/DP The sample is using Ethernet, but it is the same on PROFIBUS. |

Hello, I suggest reading following thread by our expert dchartier: Two 315-2DP CPUs Profibus Master-Slave communication
There is some limitation while working on integral Dp ports on S7 CPUs.Master-Slave is possible in these set ups. But for services such as FDL and S7 connection over PROFIBUS, communication processors (CPs) such as CP 342-5 are needed.As far as I know, S7 connection which is defined in active and passive PLCs should be downloaded to both(you need project for both CPUs due to SDB change in both projects ).
