reading Decimal places in siwarex MS

Jamil_pk Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong, as the data I read is rounded up, I need to read it with decimal places, the Decimal place setting in SIWATOOL on adds a few zero for displays, I am reading the "CURRENT PROCESS VALUE" VW n+2 I think there must be someplace to get the decimal value because if you proceed to SIWATOOL, open up the PROCESS VALUE (DR 30) it shows "GROSS / NET WEIGHT * 10" (with actually shows a higher accuracy data being calculated within, not sure if its available in S7 to read. Any help would be appreciated

Arunakat1 Posts: 217 Rating: (52)	Hi jamil, As I know the value we get from siwarex module to plc is behave like analog input. For decimal places you have to handle that value as a normal analog input. The display value in siwatool is not the same value (decimal) that reads the plc. For that display there is another display that is not need to connect with plc. See the attachment. But I do not know exactly is theirs a way to read that valve. Siwarexi Gold Expert Joined: 1/4/2007 Last visit: 12/13/2024 Posts: 1163 Rating: (175)	Hello, If you are changing the parameter “Decimal point” into Siwatool, only the followings things are changing: - the weight value into Siwatool - the weight value for a remote display. The weight value into the Step7 program is not changing by this way. If you want to have a higher resolution into your Step7 program, you have to multiplicate with “10” the parameter “Adj. weight 1” into Siwatool. Please note: The maximum value for the parameter “Adj. weight 1” is 32767 (=an integer value!)! Now, you have a higher resolution into your Step7 program. Best regards Siwarexi

WEIGHT 1 VALUE you asked to multiply by 10, currently displays 2000. can you please advise what this is? as I asked in another forum, does'nt this represent the TEST weight placed on the load cell? Siwarexi Gold Expert Joined: 1/4/2007 Last visit: 12/13/2024 Posts: 1163 Rating: (175)	Dear Jamil, Yes, the parameter "Adjustment weight 1" represent the TEST weight placed on the load cell during the calibration. For example, if you want to calibrate the scale with 50kg, you have to set this parameter to "50". If you want to have one decimal place, you have to set this parameter to "500". Best regards

I wrote an email to the moderator, but I got no reply!!! So I'm giving you the information for the case "SIWAREX MS calibration" into this case "reading Decimal places in siwarex MS". My reply to the case "SIWAREX MS calibration" for youis: Hello Jamil, To your questions: 1)Is Microscall ADDITIONAL compatible with V1.0 (though I will check, but just wanted to know if you have anything to say) I think, that you can use the current library “MicroScale_additional (v1.1)” with the library “MicroScale_V10”. But the datarecord communication will not work with “MicroScale_V10”. You can only use the commands 1 ... 26.But I didn’t test this combination. The best way is to check this by yourself, or using the “old” library “MicroScale_additional” with “MicroScale_V10”. 2)Can you tell me if there is any difference, in MICROSCALE V1.0 and V2.0? Yes, there is a difference between the library “MicroScale_V10” and “MicroScale_V20”. If you have a new Siwarex MS module (= “E-Stand 03” on the housing of the Siwarex MS module), and you are using the current library “MicroScale_V20”, you can read/write all parameters from/to the Siwarex MS module, e.g. the “Adjustment weight”. Please note: If Siemens sent to you an old software, please contact directly the Siwarex-Hotline: siwarex.hotline.aud@siemens.com They will be noble, and can send to you the current software, if you bought a few months ago the configuration package.
