Hello,

On my companies machines we have several pages of I/O status screens showing a description of the sensor  / actuator followed by an indicator to show whether it is currently ON or OFF.

Rather than type all of these descriptions in manually for each different type of machine I would like to reference the PLC tag property to get the name of the sensor.

Can someone please first of all tell me whether this is possible, and if so a brief pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.

I am currently using TIA V13 with Wincc Advanced.

my it be possible to store the PLC Tag name on the PLC side?
For an instance block the would be possible by using get instance name or something like that :-)
May there is also a system function for the tag name.

May that solve your problem, but of course that read the name on the PLC site.....
